This study was conducted as part of a suite of studies related to employment and income issues for people with serious mental illness living in Canada. The research focused on social business as an employment option for this population. Phase 1 catalogued businesses active in each province, and identified the scope and profile of social business activity across Canada for people with serious mental illness. Phase 2 utilized in-depth case studies to understand the nature and strategic focus of 6 purposively selected businesses.
