Queen’s SRT Visits Japan’s Niigata University of Health and Welfare!

In 2015, Queen’s School of Rehabilitation Therapy (SRT) and Japan’s Niigata University of Health and Welfare (NUHW) formalized a relationship in order to foster cultural and academic exchange and research collaboration between the two institutions.  As part of this relationship SRT Assistant Professor of Occupational Therapy, Dr. Setareh Ghahari, and three occupational therapy students recently traveled to Japan to visit NUHW.

QEII Scholars Blog Series – “A Ray of Hope”

In March 2015, Queen’s School of Rehabilitation Therapy was pleased to announce that it would be a host for Queen Elizabeth II (QEII) Diamond Jubilee Scholarships in International Community Based Rehabilitation (CBR). The unique QEII program runs from 2015-2018.  Students selected for this prestigious scholarship are named “Queen Elizabeth Scholars.”

SRT’s Dr. Nandini Deshpande spends sabbatical at NASA and the National Institutes of Health

From July 2015 through June 2016, Dr. Nandini Deshpande, Associate Professor at the School of Rehabilitation Therapy, is spending a sabbatical year as a visiting scholar at two of the world’s most prestigious research institutions, participating in their exciting and cutting-edge research endeavors.

The 2015 Homecoming Brunch & Distinguished Alumni Awards!

The School of Rehabilitation Therapy is looking forward to welcoming alumni to campus during Queen’s Homecoming, October 23rd-25th, 2015. A highlight of the weekend will be the School’s 3rd Annual Homecoming Brunch hosted at the Donald Gordon Centre on Saturday, October 24th. The Brunch includes the presentation of the Distinguished Alumni Awards.

Aiken joins College of New Scholars

Alice Aiken (School of Rehabilitation Therapy) has been elected to the Royal Society of Canada (RSC) College of New Scholars, Artists and Scientists for her research on health services and policies related to Canadian military personnel, veterans and their families.
