Occupational Therapist Independent Contractor (School-year contract)
Discovery Occupational Therapy is looking for an enthusiastic, independent, self-directed occupational therapist who is registered and in good standing with College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario. The OT will be working within a school-based setting with a focus on integration of assistive technology (AT) to support learning and students’ full participation in their academic role. The OT will be required to travel to schools at varying start times throughout the Limestone District School Board catchment area.
The candidate must be personable and able to engage with students with varying learning styles and needs from the elementary to high school level. Being an effective communicator with students and their teachers is essential in this position, as well as comfort learning technology and applying a cognitive approach to occupational therapy.
This is a part-time position and requires a high level of flexibility, while offering an exciting opportunity for growth and development. Direct contact hours are between 8am-3:30pm. While a small company, it offers a considerable amount of mentorship and support to independent contractors.
The successful candidate will be offered a contract for the 2021-2022 academic school year, must have a valid driver’s licence, reliable vehicle and CPIC, and be eligible for licensure as of September 1, 2021.
