We are seeking a dynamic individual with strong interpersonal skills to join our team as an Occupational Therapist. The incumbent will work closely with our specialist physicians and other healthcare practitioners in coordinating and providing rehabilitation services to our patients.
Clinical Responsibilities:
- Conducting assessments and reports for patients with cognitive, physical, behavioural and psychological impairments
- Administer interventions that focus on cognition, daily functioning, mobility, education, return to work and/or job site evaluation
- Coordination of services with multidisciplinary team including physicians and other rehabilitation practitioners
- Developing evidence-based patient-specific treatment plans for recovery
- Clearly document all assessment findings, treatment plans and reports in a timely manner
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree or Master's Degree in Occupational Therapy and/or acceptable combination of equivalent experience
- Good standing and professional membership with the College of Occupational Therapists of BC
- Experience in working with individuals who have a brain injury and/or chronic pain
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Knowledge and competency in maintaining confidentiality of client information
- Strong knowledge of community resources
- Demonstrated ability to relate to clients in ways that build confidence and trust
- Able to work in a highly diverse community with individuals from varied backgrounds and a variety of age groups, presenting with a range of difficulties and personal issues
- Good judgment, sensitivity, flexibility, discretion and resourcefulness
- Preferred two years related experience in a clinic or community mental health setting
