Job Description:

George Jeffrey Children’s Centre is a paediatric health facility in Thunder Bay, Ontario providing occupational therapy, physiotherapy, speech-language pathology, social work, recreation, and behaviour support services to children and youth with physical, communication and developmental needs. We are currently seeking occupational therapists to join our school-based rehabilitation services and community-based services programs.

1 – Regular, full-time (35-hours/week), August start date

1 – Temporary (12-month), full-time (35-hours/week), September start date

Primary responsibilities include assessment, development and monitoring of treatment programs, consultation with parents/caregivers and other service providers, and assistance with resource needs. Travel within the City of Thunder Bay and surrounding area is required. Occasional travel within the District of Thunder Bay may be required.

To be considered for this position, candidates should meet the following criteria:

Registration with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario
Proven ability to develop effective relationships with clients and members of an inter-disciplinary client care team
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Previous experience working with children
Ability to be creative and flexible with service provision, both in-person and virtually
Hold a valid Ontario Driver’s Licence and have access to a personal vehicle

The successful candidate will be required to submit a Police Vulnerable Sector Check. Knowledge of and experience working with Indigenous peoples and communities is considered an asset. Bilingualism English/French is considered an asset.
