Conducted a 10-yr follow-up of 92 inmates who began group therapy upon their incarceration in 1974. At follow-up, 86 Ss had been released from prison. 39 of these Ss showed successful postrelease adjustment for over 3 yrs; only 11 of the released Ss were reincarcerated at the time of the follow-up. Institutional behavior was found to be a poor predictor of postrelease adjustment. (14 ref) (PsycINFO Database Record (c) 2016 APA, all rights reserved)
