(2013). Group or individual therapy in the treatment of sexual offenders. What works in offender rehabilitation: An evidence-based approach to assessment and treatment, 452-467. Abstract This chapter focuses specifically on the issue of group versus individual treatment in sexual offender intervention. The general clinical literature will be examined, followed by sexual offender-specific research. Most importantly, process issues will be discussed in relation to individual or group therapy. Here, attention will be paid to examining which type of therapy - if any - is most likely to foster the development of fundamental process principles associated with effective treatment.
