Abstract This study examines how a family life education program affected prisoners' narcissism and view of ideal family functioning. Data collected from 54 inmates indicated that they were more narcissistic and perceived their family relationships as being more extreme than the test norms. Statistical analysis shows that narcissism was significantly lower and perception of present and ideal family functioning had significantly changed toward healthy family attitudes following participation in the program.
