About the Clinic
Founded in March 2021 by a dual-credentialed Registered Physiotherapist and Certified Athletic Therapist, Walkerton Physiotherapy & Sports Injury clinic has been growing since day one. The clinic includes a modern, open concept treatment and exercise space with brand new treatment tables, modalities and fitness equipment. We pride ourselves on a welcoming, friendly and laid-back atmosphere for both clients and staff. We provide musculoskeletal injury assessment and rehabilitation, with focus on education, patient empowerment, and skill-based intervention including manual therapy and individualized exercise programming. Current practitioners have strong sports injury backgrounds which allows us to effectively manage athlete injuries from the acute stage to return to sport/activity, facilitating injury prevention and longevity in sport. That being said, we treat all types of individuals and work together to achieve their unique goals. We offer registered physiotherapy services, certified athletic therapy services, shockwave treatment, acupuncture, cupping, and more.
About the Position
Full-time as early as June 2022 onwards, the successful candidate will be covering the owner’s maternity leave and can instantly take on a full caseload if desired. Due to the growing clientele, the position will remain full-time even after maternity leave has ended (3-4 months). We are willing to adjust to your comfort levels and would be happy to have you start prior to June if you wish to slowly build up your caseload. Note that we are also happy to have someone join us part-time and can be flexible on the start date if needed. New grads are welcome and encouraged to apply for September start, mentorship is available.
Essentials:
- Registered Physiotherapist in good standing with Ontario College of Physiotherapy
- New grads and experienced PT’s welcome to apply
- Excellent communication skills
- Willingness to learn and grow in the profession
Assets:
- Experience (or strong interest) in sports injuries and ability to effectively prescribe and demonstrate sport-specific exercise
- Non-dependent on electrical modalities (but able to use when indicated as an effective tool)
- Interest in community involvement and youth/student mentorship
- Positive attitude, laid back and aligning with a no-drama work environment
Compensation
Negotiable and based on experience. Clinic split percentage without space or equipment rental fees. Includes reception staff, access to clinic software (JaneApp, Physitrack), and marketing assistance. Yearly allowance to help with medical and dental expenses after 3 months. Optional to divide allowance into medical/dental and wellness, which can be used for gym/yoga memberships and more. Continuing education allowance after 1 year.
The Surrounding Area
The town of Walkerton is a beautiful community located in Bruce County. 30min to Lake Huron beaches, less than an hour to Owen Sound, approximately 1.5 hours to Kitchener-Waterloo, Guelph and London, and 2 hours to Toronto. Bruce County has lots to offer for outdoor enthusiasts, with trails, rivers and lakes nearby. Essential amenities, downtown boutiques, and recreational facilities combined with the slowed-down pace of small-town living makes Walkerton perfect for families.
