Position Summary:
ErinoakKids is seeking an enthusiastic individual to fill a permanent full time position as Speech-Language Pathologist to provide support for ASD Diagnostic Hub and our fee-for-service (FFS) offerings. Reporting to the Business Operations Manager (BOM), the Speech-Language Pathologist will work closely within an inter-professional team of clinicians to screen clients for signs of ASD. Additionally the SLP will support FFS SLP and Communication packages.
Major Responsibilities:
- Screening clients for signs of ASD and make clinical decisions whether the client requires a full diagnostic assessment with the ASD Diagnostic Hub;
- Facilitating all aspects of the screening assessment, including parent interviews, and/or facilitating play activities;
- Writing and/or contributing to screening reports;
- Support families whose children have been diagnosed with ASD through the Hub by providing post-diagnostic consultation;
- ErinoakKids has FFS service packages available for families to purchase and the successful candidate for this position will provide subsequent assessment and treatment.
- The SLP will be supporting the delivery of Autism Service Packages (fee-for-service) with interest in providing services to children and families who are paying for services out of pocket and for those who have received childhood budgets to purchase services for their children.
- All other reasonable duties as assigned and identified by the organization.
Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Speech Language Pathology;
- Previous experience in screening, assessing and treating clients with diagnosed and suspected ASD is an asset;
- Previous experience with administering and interpreting ADOS-2 is an asset;
- Two years of clinical experience working with children with special needs preferred;
- Strong interpersonal and consultative skills;
- Excellent communication skills, written and verbal;
- Display a high level of initiative;
- Experience with clinical pediatric population is preferred;
- Registration with the College of Audiologists and Speech Language Pathologists of Ontario (CASLPO);
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and effectively in a team setting;
- Bilingualism in French and English is an asset.
