About
Susanne Murphy is an Assistant Professor in the School of Rehabilitation Therapy. She completed her Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy at Queen’s University and completed her Master’s degree at Dalhousie University. Susanne joined Queen’s University in 2010, coming from the Centre for Studies in Aging and Health at Providence Care. Susanne’s primary role is teaching in the Occupational Therapy Program. Many of her teaching and research interests stem from her work in fieldwork education and work with older adults.

Teaching
Recent teaching opportunities in the Occupational Therapy Program include Group Theory and Process, Environmental Determinants of Occupation I, Enabling Occupation in Older Adults, Coaching and Counseling for Occupational Change, Clinical Reasoning, Community Development, Lived Experience of Disability and Research Projects.
Research
Research interests include health policy, clinical fieldwork education and interprofessional education and collaborative practice. Recent research includes safety planning for suicide prevention, the impact of post-traumatic stress disorder exposure on children growing up in military-connected families, service needs for individuals living in the community, assistive technology design in a teaching environment and competency-based evaluation in fieldwork.
