Date: March 2015- March 2016

Funder: Queen's University

Partner: L'Association nationale des parents des enfants vivant avec handicap mental en RDC (ANAPEHMCO)

About : This project utilizes participatory action research to both understand ID-related stigma and mount a community action project intended to reduce stigma associated with ID in Kinshasa. Specifically, we work with our community partners (parents of children with intellectual disabilities) to conduct research on stigma related to intellectual disabilities in Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of the Congo. Results of this study will be shared in a public sensitization campaign that includes print materials as well as radio and television appearances.
